Project Overview
OMFIT is a mobile application that promotes fitness through a combination of highly personalized fitness training, customizable music, and an at-home environment into a single robust experience.
OMFIT sets itself apart from other fitness apps by honing in on a personalized music experience, which is at the core of its product offerings. Users have the opportunity to choose from hundreds of music genres — which the app then seamlessly matches to the tempo of each workout.
Wireframes
Launching the wireframing stage involved designing several paper prototypes to best display how the OMFIT application should look and feel in terms of information architecture. The wireframing stage helped to outline visual and typographic hierarchy of the OMFIT user interface, as well as set the interactive zones and elements, and plan transitions and interactions. The main objective was to structure main item categories, as well as clearly integrate searching and filtering options.
Visual Language
Once the structure was finalized, the presentation of the UI elements began to fall into place. Finding an effective color palette and typography for the interface was the first step.
A simple and clean aesthetic for the icons helps users get quickly oriented in the navigation system of the app. The vectors were created in a flat style and the colors corresponded to the common color palette applied in the UI.
Custom illustrations for on boarding tutorials were also created so users who launch the mobile app for the first time are able to get oriented within unfamiliar features and controls.
